This article is also available in: Italian

Dubrovnik (Ragusa of Dalmatia) is located along the Dalmatian coast in the far south of Croatia. The city tends to have a Mediterranean-type climate characterized by hot and relatively dry summers and mild, rainy winters. But due to its location close to the mountains, the dry period is not as dry as usually occurs in areas with a Mediterranean climate, but there is only a reduction in the amount of rain between May and September.

The rains fall mainly between October and April, but the wettest months are those between October and December, on average there is just over 1,000 mm of rain a year.

The months of June and July are the driest, in a year there are 2,520 hours of sunshine (for comparison the city of Rome has 2,472) while the rainy days are 109. The coldest month of the year is January and the the hottest is August, the average maximum temperatures vary between 28.9 ° C in August and 13.2 ° C in January, while the average minimum temperatures vary between 22.7 ° C in July and 7.0 ° C of January. The average maximum annual temperature is 19.7 ° C, the average minimum temperature is 13.5 ° C.
