DOCUMENTS: In the countries of the European Union that adhere to the Schengen Treaty it is possible to move freely, customs and borders are no longer manned.
For European citizens it is still necessary to be in possession of a valid Identity Card or Passport. For those traveling with children and young people under 15 it is necessary for them to have their own personal document, both an identity card and a passport.
For citizens of other countries, a passport is required and, for some, a visa. For non-EU citizens residing in the European Union, a residence permit is required.
Driving licence: To drive your own car in France you only need to have a valid European driving licence.
Car insurance: European insurance is valid for driving your own car in France.
HEALTH CARE: Healthcare in France is excellent, to use French healthcare services the European citizen must have the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) or Health Card. Additional health and travel insurance is always helpful and advisable.
Vaccinations: No vaccinations are required to enter France.

The network of telephone booths in France (operated by France Telecom) is very widespread, almost all public telephones accept only prepaid cards (none accept coins). The card is on sale at tobacconists, newsagent’s, exchange offices and post offices. In many phones it is possible to use a credit card. In most public telephones, it is possible to receive calls, in fact behind each one there is the corresponding telephone number.
Mobile Phones: France uses the GSM system, so you can easily use your mobile phone both to make and receive calls. The connection with the French telephone operator connected to your operator will be made automatically. The technologies used in France are: GSM, GPRS, EDGE,
UMTS, HSPA, HSPA+.
Mobile Operators: There are several mobile operators in France including: Orange, SFR, Bouygues Telecom, Free Mobile.
INTERNET: Internet cafes are found in all French cities. Most tourist offices, libraries and hotels have paid or free internet connections.
ELECTRICITY: Electricity in France is, like in the rest of Europe, 230 Volts 50 Hz.
Electrical sockets: The electrical sockets used in France are type C and E. The type C socket is the same as that used in the rest of Europe with two round pins, while the type E socket is a version very similar to Schuko sockets (type F) but with female earth instead of two pins.

BANKS: Banks are open from Monday to Friday from 8.30-9.00 to 16.00-17.30. Credit cards are accepted everywhere and there is a massive presence of “automatic dispensers” (ATMs) that can be used with any card enabled for international traffic.
SHOPS AND SHOPPING CENTERS: Open continuously from 09.00 to 19.00. Shopping centers are open at least until 8pm, some until 10pm.
POST OFFICES: Post offices are open from Monday to Friday, from 8.00 to 18.00-19.00, and on Saturdays from 8.00 to 12.00. The only exception is the post office on Rue du Louvre in Paris, open 24 hours every day.
